I think I'm finally gonna join the 20th Century and get a BluRay player today. Any suggestions on movies, current or not, that will really blow me away with the enhanced quality???? I tend towards action, horror, some comedy, some drama, some documentaries.....nothing too girly, and probably not animation. I'm kinda thinking Casino Royale maybe? Or something with lots of tits....

Also, any good programs out for ripping BluRay disks to a Mac....for "backup" purposes, of course......

Shit I love those movies...is there a dramatic difference in the quality? I want something to really show me what BluRay can do.....

It is, but no tits.... A little too heavy for a Friday afternoon, too.

    Are older movies noticeably enhanced?

I'm thinking if you want to be "wowed"

get something a little more modern

something like an Avatar or maybe one of those cool cartoon movies like Up

Those would be super enhanced for BluRay and the sound quality alone would be worth the pick up

I can't tell you much about the Alien movies because I just got it and it was a gift

I'm assuming they are enhanced to a certain degree in respect to video and audio

In your case I would start off with something that was just recently released

That's what I was thinking; the new movies must be shot intentionally with HiDef in mind (?)

if you're talking B&W "older", I can't imagine the quality being noticeably different. however, I'm sure flicks like Star Wars looks great on BluRay. :dontknow:

Francis Ford Coppola restored his Godfather Trilogy, frame by frame, for the blue ray version.
The Dark Knight would be a good one to watch on Blue ray

    2001 A Space Odyssey

And I agree with whoever said Up.

The Dark Night sounds like a contender, but honestly, I was a bit disappointed in it after all the hype...:nocheer:
