I finished watching the 1st two seasons of this awesome series yesterday.
Now I find out I have to wait until September for the 3rd season to start.
These story-arc dominated tv series that I absolutely love (like Breaking Bad, Fringe, and Justified or The Wire, Deadwood, and John From Cincinatti before them) drive me crazy.

I wait until a season's over before I download and watch them but this shit is getting ridiculous what with Breaking Bad coming back for a final season (after last season's final episode that should have ended the series) only it'll be broken up into two 8 episode half-seasons split apart by 9 to 12 months.

It's awful enough that I find these television series to be better produced and acted and much more enjoyable than current movies.
What truly pisses me off is that I've allowed myself to become addicted to this candy coated shit like it's hellbilly heroin.

It'll almost be a seamless transition from the end of the 8-ep (half)season of Breaking Bad and the start of this. I'm okay with that.

Well, yeah- but why are they splitting the final season up like that? It makes no sense.
I guess they still have some plot threads to sew up.
At least it won't just evaporate without any resolution of conflicts ...unlike John From Cincinnati.

Howard's favorite episode this year was when Jimmy fucked his mother then killed his father....true story.

Only in Howard's case it's obvious he wanted to kill his mother so he could replace her as his father's love interest.

Boardwalk Empire, I liked it the first time when it was called Sapranos or Entourage. All HBO series are essentially the same story, but different setting.

Not even close. "All the Same" yes if you mean excellent writing, acting, production. Minus Entourage of course...

...wow the things you read on the internet. its based on a true story, real people in real places. start from the beginning, read a synopsis of what the show is about and then go directly to s1 e1 and report back. youre missing a really break show. you wouldnt want to miss breaking bad would you? this is same great quality of story telling.

meaant to say great show sorry.

It's sad but it's the goddamn truth. All of the best adult entertainment is coming from HBO, Showtime, AMC, FX, and STARZ.

    Next to nothing from "Hollywood".

The movie box office has been almost entirely surrendered to women, teenagers, and children.

...the cost of promoting and distributing movies has to be huge not to mention greedy execs getting paid too. and movie actors arent making the kind of money they use to. a steady paycheck probably looks good. better than sitting at comicon selling autographs to nobody.

i agree but i dont think it is sad. they can tell a story in a 12 episode season that just isn't possible in a 2 hour movie. and the production values on the hbo shows are amazing. i always wonder when watching game of thrones how much money they are spending to make each episode because it looks so great.

It's kinda like Dances with Wolves and Avatar are the same movie.

Or Big Daddy and Baby Momma are the same movie.

Or to put it in terms you can understand, Howard Stern and Don Imus are the same person.

Plus I love seeing peoples panties get in a bunch when I tell them their favorite tv show sucks.

It's expensive as hell. And each episode takes a lot of time to film.

Last week's Blackwater episode took 1 month to film.
