Does anyone love Bob Ross as much as I do?
Twitch has been doing a Bob Ross marathon
Remember, when we're painting, we don't make mistakes, we just have happy accidents.
He was great !
I remember watching the episode when he brought the baby squirrel in and was feeding it from a little bottle.
That guy was as laid back as it gets.
We would sit and watch him as kids, completely mesmerized by his calm demeanor, and soothing voice.
Thanks for bringing back a great memory.
Who would have thought he was a Sargeant in the Army
It is amazing to watch someone dab paint on a canvas and it comes together into an image like that. Once or twice. Then it's boring.
Bob Ross > Larry Inc!
Dontcha just love all the young hipsters these days who jump on the "Bob Ross is oh so cool" bandwagon? Most of them have no idea who the guy even was. I actually painted along to the dude when I was growing up. People consider him a hack, but he had some cool techniques for beginning artists, which is who the show was for. And yes, we would make fun of the "happy little trees" comments even back then, but he just seemed like a happy hippie or something. We all "got it" even at the time.
There were a few different artists on PBS; one would do water-color stuff and an angry sounding old dude with a crazy accent who would get all worked up over the "alizarin crimson". Anyone remember him?
Funny - that's what I call it when I have a wet dream.
I love Bob Ross in a non faggot way. Very relaxing.
And probably tougher too !
...and remember it's your little world, it can be whatever color you like
Alizarin crimson & Phthalo blue.
My father used to like painting along with him. This was in the days before DVR, or even VHS. He's got a couple paintings hanging at the house that have the classic Bob Ross flavor.
"I wonderin' how Bob gets his hair to look that good!"
He puts paint where paint ain't.
