Yesterday I watched a a terrific independent horror-western starring Kurt Russell about a lost-race of cave-dwelling cannibals - Bone Tomahawk.

Kind of talky but just the same- it's great dialogue.

Should be on Netflix in early November.
I grabbed it off a torrents site after reading a positive review of the film in the New York Times.
Kurt Russell stars with Matthew Fox (Lost) and Patrick Wilson (Fargo). Also a great role for character actor Richard Jenkins.
The legendary Sid Haig also has a bit part early in the flick along with David Arquette.
Might be the best role Arquette's ever had.

My understanding is that there is some top notch gore.

yeah- well not too much ...not compared to The Walking Dead ...but when it turns violent it's pretty memorable

mostly it's just memorable and clever dialogue -sort of like the back-and-forth between characters in Deadwood only more formal

Xbox video has it for rent for $6. I was thinking of watching it and thought the trailer looked good.

I just read that Walt Disneys last words were "Kurt Russel" but nobody knew why. Did Walt have a hard on for a young Kurt? The world may never know.

Considering Kurt got his start in Disney movies I don't think that's too weird.

I saw the movie. Like the OP said, a little talky, but terrific nonetheless. Great texture. Kurt Russell is better in this than he was in "Tombstone".

He actually wrote the name on a piece of paper. I think he was too fucked up to speak. Why just his name, and no other information? Kurt said he had no idea why either. Very odd.
