Just thinking of the poor book sales for Blobbin and Lisa and was wondering if you guys could think of other projects his staff has done over the past few years that prove how few listeners he really has now. If Blobbins book was released ten years ago, it would be selling in the hundreds of thousands by now, don't you think?

Its really really got to sting Howard to know how much his show has bombed.

Think about it. 17 yrs ago, Robins first book would have sold 550 copies in just one bookstore in NYC.

Now, she and Lisa cant sell shit even over the internet.

    Its over Johnny. Its over.

What will really drive this home is if/when Artie's book is a success.

He's no more high profile than Robin, and no longer has "the power of the Stern show" behind him

I remember the crap they gave richard for his "charred walls of the damned" group. I hope it sold more copies than robin's book back when it was released.

I don't think a Vegan cookbook by a very heavy sidekick & Lisa G's whatever the fuck that was can be blamed on Stern
It is obvious he is no where near the popularity of a decade ago, but Gary's book did pretty good a few years back

oh yeah they did. they gave him shit because they felt he was wasting his time as they weren't going to be successful as say Train or some crap like that. They just dont want to hear that Richard could just session drum the rest of his life and do just fine.

The total run for All of Gary's printings combined were 100K. That's not how many were sold. That's how many were printed. Even Quivers A Life did 200K. The Paperback for Private parts alone was 2.8 million.

Fast Food Mania and For What It's Worth were also one and done. Beth's Gossip Cop show was none and done, as the pilot was never aired.

Agreed. I can't believe the crap I bought from Howard when he was in his prime (in my opinion anyway) like U.S. Open Sores, Butt Bongo and that New Year's Eve Pageant. Look at that now and I'm embarrassed I thought it was funny. Remember Robin skating during that pageant?

Robins probably not the best measuring scale. Her first book was released 17 years ago at the height of Howards popularity and only had a total print run of 200K. She was never a big draw in sales.

Ha, yeah, thank you. Reading this thread I'm thinking uhhh you people realize she DID release a book roughly 17 years ago. Sometimes I wonder how many out there only discovered Stern when the Sirius came pre-installed in their new Mazarati's.

shit... Private Parts: The Movie! I have old tapes of Howard ripping on Star Trek Next Generation Movies ONLY making $25 Million on its first weekend & saying his movie will do that easy. That movie was really the first time he wasn't in control of telling us the numbers. We never heard the sales for Butt Bongo, The PPV New Years Eve special... The internet wasn't as big to look up book sales numbers. But damn when I got the USA Today paper Monday morning & saw after 3 years of promotion, 5 hours a day, 5 days a week... Private Parts the Movie made $14 million. I laughed my ass off & realized he was a complete bull shitter on his fame. (shit his private parts mtv movie red carpet was a bomb, he barely had a lot of people & that was in the middle of nyc!)

Artie is WAY more high-profile than Robin.

He's done movies.......................real Hollywood movies, not the Jackie type of movies............................he was a regular on a couple of network tv shows, and he clocked a 3-year, $1,500,000 radio gig after his suicide attempt.

Do you think Robin could do that post-Stern?!?

    Mexican, please!

because she was always hated by the majority of fans

because she was always a cunt

    it's no mystery

if she was even somewhat likable, and had any talent whatsoever, she could have really cashed in off the popularity of the Stern show
