Now I just have to figure out how to use it. :/
This interest me. Saw some guys doing it last spring on Lake Michigan.
Now the real fun begins
You in prison, redic?
From shore or trolling?
Never caught a kite. I don't think they are in any of the Texas waters.
Pics or it's not real.
Ridic, you'll kill the sails where you live with a kite system.
I meant ridic having it isn't real.
Plan is to do it trolling. I went on a charter a while back and the guides had good luck with it. I had a Bass Pro Shop gift card for a couple hundred bucks left over from Christmas so I figured I give it a shot.
Picked up a Tigress kite, Tigress rigging kit and Star Rods kite rod. Everything else I need I should already have. I am excited to give it a try. I have seen quite a few sailfish flags flying on some charters coming back in the inlet so I am hoping to hook one myself if I can get this thing in the air.
$50 a tie up on the boats I frequent. Was it pricey?
Thats what I am hoping to do! I would love to fight one of those bad boys. Caught a 25 pound Amberjack a few weeks ago. Fucker ran like hell. That was a blast.
The host from Additive Fishing calls amberjacks "Reef Donkeys" because of how hard they fight.
For the kite, rigging kit and rod it was just under 300 thanks to a pretty nice sale going on. Luckily already have a bunch of reels and line or I could have easily spent another 500 bucks.
I'm interested in the outcome here.
Took the kite and rod on the beach this afternoon and I was able to get it in the air pretty quickly. From what I read that is half the battle. Now I gotta try it on the water making sure the bait stays at the correct level. That's gonna be the tough part. Next weekend can't come soon enough.
Where is Blue Fisher when I need him? I wonder if he has any experience with kites...
Oh I thought you said Kike.
