i've been eating this breakfast porridge (made of old fashioned oats, greek yogurt, chia seeds, skim milk, blueberries, stevia, and maple syrup) every day this week. it's delish. but..

here's the deal with this porridge: it makes you poop really healthy.

but here's the thing with it: instead of pooping once a day where you poop out a satisfying amount of turds, you poop like 10 times a day, one small turd each time. it's very healthy, but not very satisfying.

on the up side: if i were a grossbeak, i could probably go without wiping. that's how clean my porridge turds are.

I have never tried porridge, but love oatmeal, farina, and grits, so I imagine that porridge would be in my wheelhouse, no?

How goes it Dink my friend?

cold, and it's no cook. easy peasy...

in a 1/2 pint mason jar, put in (in this order):

1/4 cup rolled oats (not instant or steel cut)
    1 1/2 tsp chia seeds
    1/3 cup milk
    1/4 cup plain greek yogurt
1 packet (or 1 tsp) stevia (or any sweetener)
1 tsp maple syrup (or other syrup)

screw on lid, and shake. remove lid, and add blueberries to fill. put on lid, shake, and put in fridge over night. in the morning, take out of the fridge and eat cold.

sooooo good, tons a protein, and only like 230 calories. :cheer:

Ok!! I have all that! Except chia seeds... maybe I'll use flax seeds. And I'd do agave nectar instead of Stevia probably.

    Thank you Dinkus. :wop:

    hells yeah.

i've never had rye flakes, but i'd definitely be willing to give it a shot. you cook the rye flakes with the oats?

definitely. it's really, really good. everything is great. i started taking friday afternoons off as of the first of the year, so i'm loving half-day friday! :cheer: how are you?

that sounds great. the thing that makes this porridge different is that you don't have to cook it at all. just leave in fridge overnight.

no problemo! i don't know if the flax vs chia seeds thing is important. i know the chia seeds puff up and get a gelatinous covering around them, which is supposed to be good for hydration and being filled up. if you get a chance to swing by a natural foods store or co-op, grab a bag of chia seeds. they're a superfood that is even better for you than flax.
