Yeah, I had to hold my TV so it wouldn't fall over. I was afraid I was gonna have to go outside, I was in a wife beater and shorts, not exactly presentable (though it was like 6:45 a.m. when it hit).

Yes, my wife and I have been stationed here since August 2007, and we're leaving this month. I have spent a lot of time since 2007 back in the U.S., though.

Nah, that's a good 230 miles south. We've not had any increase in radiation levels here. The tsunami in March did hit here, though (I was in California at the time), and caused a lot of damage to the homes and businesses right on the shore.

oh good, that whole situation looked pretty scary from what I saw on the news...i'm sure it was a lot worse than what they were letting on but glad you didn't have to deal with that. Betcha you were thanking your lucky stars you were back in Cali during that tsunami :c

Well, I was pretty worried about it, my wife was in South Korea at the time and we both didn't know if our place was trashed or not. I came back here a week after the March quake and stayed a couple of weeks, joining in on the base cleanup crews that went out into the community to help with relief efforts and such.

Air Force, there isn't much of an Army presence around here, mostly USAF, Navy, and USMC for some reason.
