ALBANY – The fiscal troubles of Health Republic, which enrolled about 20 percent of the customers on New York's health exchange, is under review by state and federal officials amid criticism that the state isn't doing enough to help patients.
The health-care cooperative's finances have gotten so bad in recent weeks that state and federal regulators stepped in and announced it would shut down the insurer by Nov. 30.

The roughly 200,000 people on the plan, as well as 35 percent of the 3,700 small businesses in New York's health exchange, need to find new insurance by Nov. 15.

Hope and change. Now people will be clamoring for a single payer system - because the government has done so well with the new exchanges.

Health Republic received a $23.77 million startup loan from the federal government and an additional $241.37 million in solvency loans as of January this year, according to U.S. Government Accountability Office report released in June.

    Fuck us.

This shit is getting out of control.

Either that or the Obamacare generated meltdown of our entire existing healthcare system - which will leave the fedgov with no choice but to step in and institute a single payer system to avert a 'public disaster' - is proceeding exactly according to plan.

Well, get the government even more deeply involved. That should fix it.

Exactly. That's the way the Obama administration responds to anything under government control. When in doubt, take more from the taxpayer to cover the cost of operating it. Even if it's a miserable failure, they had good intentions. Just let the working people pick up the slack. The definition of liberalism.
