    He cut the vocals on this when he was 85. He was a phenomenal singer, probably even better at that than as a guitarist.

    I saw him in September. His hands weren't working, so he flubbed a lot of notes and wasn't in time, but damn if the didn't get that same glistening tone out of his Gibson that I'd heard the previous times I saw him.

    In her defense, Katy Perry does has two astonishing talents. Neither appear to be musical but you can't have everything.

    When he was a young man, those guitar string bends he did were on very, very heavy gauge strings. It's not like today where the average player uses a set of 10 gauge strings that break rather easily. When he did it back in the day, it was downright amazing. String bending wasn't an easy thing to do, but he did it and inspired a generation of players.
