Mum, 43, 'seduced schoolboy, 15, saying 'let's get naughty' before sleeping with him' Karen Seldon seduced the 15-year-old on Facebook, and then went on to bed him, a court has heard In court: Mum accused of seducing a 15-year-old boy on Facebook and sleeping with him at her home A 43-year-old mum seduced a schoolboy on Facebook and invited him to her house where she slept with him, a court heard yesterday. Karen Seldon, now 44, is facing trial accused of having sex with a boy, who was 15 at the time and cannot be named for legal reasons. Newport Crown Court was told that on a second occasion the pair were interrupted by the boy's mum and aunt, Wales Online reports. Seldon denies the claim and her barrister told the court the allegations were “sexual fantasies” the boy invented to boast to his friends. Prosecutor Suzanne Thomas told the court Seldon, who knew the alleged victim, contacted him on Facebook and started asking him personal questions. She said: "The defendant asked him whether he liked role playing and asked him to send pictures of himself. "She sent him a message saying "let's get naughty" and asked him to come to her house. "She took him into the living room and told him that she wanted him." Prosecuting, Ms Thomas told the court Seldon continued to contact the boy over Facebook after the first encounter, sending photos of her breasts and bottom. She is also accused of meeting with him on a second occasion when she approached him in her car and kissed him. Miss Thomas said: "They drove to the defendant's home and they started kissing. "They were about to go upstairs when there was banging on the door. "At the door were (the boy’s) mother and aunt. "There was a great deal of shouting and scuffling while the women were arguing." The boy initially told the police Seldon had forced him into the car but when later interviewed he said he got into the car without force and had fully consented to the sexual acts. Seldon was arrested and denied having any sexual activity with the boy and she denied sending him Facebook messages. A police interview with the boy was played in court in which he described Seldon as being “obsessed” with him for a long time. He said he was called a “lad” and a “legend” after telling his friends about the sexual activity which led to his mother finding out. In the dock: Karen-Seldon denied allegations she seduced a 15-year-old boy on Facebook and sleept with him at her home Defence barrister James Evans accused the boy in cross examination of making up the accusations in order to show off to his friends. He said: "Everything you told the police that day about your sexual conquest of Karen Seldon was just your sexual fantasies about her. "Nothing actually happened. "It's something you have fantasies about, things you told your friends to look like a lad and a legend amongst your little peer group, that is what it’s really about." Mr Evans also put it to the boy that Seldon had not sent any messages to him and that none had been recovered by the police. The boy claimed he had forgotten his Facebook password and had deactivated the account. He said: "It's convenient for you that you forgot your password. I suggest you deliberately forgot your password because if your account was recovered the messages wouldn’t be on there.” The boy denied this. Also cross examined was the boy's mother, who claimed to have found out that her son was at Seldon's house after his friend texted her. Speaking about the confrontation at Seldon's home, she said: "She was wearing a black and white dress that barely covered her bottom. "She asked me if she could put some clothes on so I gave her a throw and said to her that she didn't mind flashing her private parts to my son. "I asked her what she was doing with my 15-year-old son and she said she was sorry and had made a mistake." Mr Evans said the boy was not at the property on the night in question but the mother had been made aware of the allegation and had gone round Seldon's house with her sister and their partners to "sort her out". He added: "(Seldon) was examined by the doctors the following day and she was found to have injuries to her wrists, forearm, femur and above her left breast. "It's the case you made up this allegation to protect yourself after you went round there to sort her out." The boy's mother denied this.
