This was a great show I found on YouTube, I disagree with a lot of what this said, but it was still a good discussion. Also the closest I can remember Art getting to explaining his own religious views.

It's one of the ones that has embedding disabled, here's the url: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tF3j0P5_FuQ
Basically, what he did was dig up a bunch of documents that were written well after Jesus was dead (a lot of them like that forgery they found recently in Egypt) and present them as being factual. Most historians discredited these years ago, a lot of the stories of the child acts of Jesus, and accounts supposedly written by Jesus' brother James (the problem being they were written in Greek of course, and neither Jesus nor anyone he would have been related to could speak or write Greek, plus the carbon dating was way off).

EDIT: Also, for anyone interested, this Wikipedia page lists all of the apocrypha he is talking about, so if you're so inclined it's a good starting point to know where he's getting all of this from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Testament_apocrypha

Yes, the same guy. I really dug the interview, but I still don't know that I trust a lot of those documents he based his book on (not that I trust the ones that made it into the actual Bible either :jj:).

I'm with you on that. The book was footnoted like a mofo but it was a self published little thing so he could have made half of it up for all I know. The one thing Kimball said that always stuck with me was that Jesus wasn't the pauper like popular thought, but that his family was wealthy and had salt mines in England. That's why England always figured into the narrative.
