How ironic, California has just about gotten rid of all the chrome shops with environmental laws.

rooting hard for this $10000-bred, single horse stable colt, his outspoken crusty blue collar owners, and his 77 year old trainer. Great one-in-a-million rags to riches story but my friend who professionally handicaps tells me that although he got a good break getting the #2 position and is being allowed to wear the nasal breathing strip, still considering the breeding, a 1.5 mile track and the 3rd race in 5 weeks, it doesn't bode well.

    When the devil came
    He was not red
He was chrome, and he said

    Come with me
    You must go
    So I went
    Where everything was clean
    So precise and towering

    I was welcomed
    With open arms
I received so much help in every way
    I felt no fear
    I felt no fear

    The air was crisp
    Like sunny late winter days
A springtime yawning high in the haze
And I felt like I belonged
    Come with me

    Come with me
    Come with me
    Come with me
    Come with me
    Come with me
    Come with me
    Come with me

I know someone that works at Belmont and saw some of Chrome's morning workouts. He said he looks good and feisty not tired at all. A mile and a half is a loooooooong way for today's horses and Belmont is a huge track. It's easy for a jockey to make a move to early but if any horse can do it---it's Chrome. Plus the owners seem like real down to earth guys and it'll be a great story.
