one printed out a human skull and that 3d printed skull was put into a woman's head this week (i think it was this week...just read the story headline on reddit tonight).
a few months ago docs used one to construct a replacement jaw for a patient to replace the original that had to be removed due to cancer. it worked perfectly.
the machines that can do that kind of work cost millions. companies like major airplane manufacturers have them.
seems like this 3D printer is going to be a big game changer...so not much of a need for all those cheap chinese manufacturing jobs.
