Someone gave my wife a Lenovo Chromebook and said you can upgrade the storage by 64GB or so with an SD card. Can it run full Office if we do that or is it just that online version?

This is partly a sequel to my thread earlier in the month about laptops.

You know anything about their ability to support full Office installation?

There's a free online version. It is not the same as the Windows version but it works.(I've never used it to tell you the exact difference) Go to the chrome store or whatever it is called.

Office is a Windows program. Chromebooks run Chrome OS, not Windows. No, you can't run the Windows version on Chrome OS.

You are the only one mentioning windows. OP did not. You said it is a windows program. Technically correct but anyone reading it assumed you meant it is only a windows program, which is incorrect.

Yeah, the reason for the thread is that I'm thinking about stealing this Chromebook and want to use it to work on airplanes when I'm travelling. Can't always do that with an online version of Office. So, if I can stick and SD card in and install regular Office, I will snatch the Chromebook and leave my wife with the old-ass Sony Vaio.

No can do. There may be a clone that will allow it, I don't know.
