I just don't get why Hollywood is trying to shove Russell Brand down our throats? He can me moderately funny at times, but mostly I find him a bore. He was good in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and has sucked pretty much since. He was horrible on the MTV Movie Awards that they actually asked him back for a second year and he sucked again just a little less. I watched ten minutes of his FX show and it was awful.

He's a zany, eccentric Englishman that was married to Katy Perry.

    The End.

I watched 2 minutes of his FX show and it was awful.

I'm was a huge Russell Brand fan going back to 2005, when he hosted one of my favorite British TV shows -- a talk show devoted to Big Brother.

I would also listen to his podcasts.

In 2006, he adopted the current Russell Brand persona.

He has a unique funny personality.

But, I don't know, I guess I'm tired of him. Tired of his shtick.

But he had to strike while the iron was hot with his career. The dude is pushing 40.

I had never heard of him until the first time he was announced as the host of the MTV Music Awards. I don't watch them so even after that I still wasn't sure what he is or what he does. I assumed a comedian.

I've never seen any movies he's in.

I know him from Stern appearances and marrying Katy Perry.

Then I recently watched some of his FX show and it's obvious that he's NOT a comedian.

I don't know what he is or why he's being shoved down America's throat.

I think he must be blowing some powerful queen in the entertainment industry. There is no other explanation for him.....

To some chicks he's rock star hot, and he's a bit of a bad boy.

It's interesting that in today's listening thread the only two people who claimed to like him were women................and I doubt it's for his feminine sensibilities.

I don't know why he just doesn't pick up a guitar. His playing couldn't be worse than his "comedy". I haven't heard much of his comedy but he's never made me laugh.

He's Dane Cook meets Tommy Lee, sent to England.

He is a huge comedic talent like Benjy or Shuli. In one of his tv shows he beat off a guy in a public toilet. Comedy gold.

    ^Lmfao, that's perfect.

I don't get Dane Cook either but I at least understood why Hollywood was trying to shove him down everyone's throats a few years back.

He had millions of frat boys or whoever buying his albums and tickets to his tours and following him on Myspace (lmao....myspace....dead like Dane's career). They just wrongly assumed these same assholes would go to see him in the movies.

Russell Brand on the other hand....what exactly was his fanbase for these same experts to think American wants him and his spray-painted eyebrows and his goofy fucking skinny jeans?

Dane Cook's career dead?!? Au contraire mon frere! Cook is playing Howard Stern in a sitcom about a shock jock who moves to satellite radio this fall. That show should last about two weeks before it is canceled. Dane Cook is sitting on the top of the world my friend.

It was a chick thing with Cook, too. A lot of women went to his shows. One skank I messed around with for a few weeks around the time he broke had sent him naked pictures of herself...............unsolicited..................she just went to his website and listened to a few clips, then apparently decided he needed naked pictures of her.

Now multiply that skank by 50,000, at least, all over the country, and I'm sure he thought he was going to be a cross between The Beatles and Jim Carrey. And it looks like a few Hollywood execs seemed to have thought so too.

Hollywood called England and said "I'm looking for something smack dab in the middle of Hugh Grant and Andy Dick...............what ya got?!?".

I like Russell Brand, he's quick-witted and funny. He was great as a guest on Stern, and he was quicker on the draw than Howard too. Hollywood wants to blow him up so he can be more bankable like a Sascha Baron Cohen or Sandler. If Brand gets bigger, then Hollywood can make a lot of money with him. However, I didn't think that much of Brand in the remake of Arthur. Clearly Hollywood would like it if Brand could carry a movie as well as Dudley Moore. Ain't gonna happen though. 4,575!

I'll explain. He's fucking brilliant, that's all. He's been through hell and back, with his "bad boy" years and drug addiction. He's funny, insightful, incredibly articulate, deeply spiritual and has the mind of a mad genius.

Catch a rerun of his appearance on Piers Morgan last night. He was all of those things and more.
