Im in sales so this week is a no brainer for me of relaxation. The year is over, no one is buying stuff. Work is low stress I stay home and hang with the wife and kids.
Movie theater trips during the days, dinners out, good football games and people over to the house for drinks and dinner all week who are relaxed and happy
Starting January 1st the grind will start and nothing I did this year will matter because it is all about 2016 and numbers but for now I'm not gonna worry about it.

But this one week is the best of the year, no pressure for me or my customers and my friends. Plus my friends want to hang out with their families too

Good stuff for 7 days, enjoy the week!!!

I'm actually pretty busy and crazy this week, but I'm happy it's good for someone.

Well said. I'm in sales as well. It's a short week with everyone still in the Christmas Spirit and prepping for the New Year's Holiday.
There is always some frantic invoicing, budgeting and accounting this week to close out the quarter / year.
The phones aren't ringing, the daily barrage of email is a trickle. Will go out for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day this week. It's all good.
Come Monday the 4th it's all new. The goals and incentives reset and were off and running. I'm fortunate as I do enjoy my chosen occupation.

I was kidding. My routine isn't that taxing to begin with, so I can't complain either way.

But the traffic was worse, restaurants were too busy to bother with, and one floor of my house is torn up while they remodel the kitchen and floors due to a water leak.

The Christmas present is that because it ruined a section of the wood floors, they have to refinish the entire floor of the house to match (which I was about to have to pay for anyway as the house is 11 years old), they have to replace the kitchen cabinets and doors as some of them were damaged inspecting the water damage (which we wanted to do anyway as they used cheap MDF doors on them, they will refinish them from stained to painted white (which my wife wanted anyway), and the topper is since they broke the Corian counter tops they will replace them with granite , which she also was about to have us shell out for. So, we paid a $2500 deductible and the rest is on Nationwide. The floor finishing alone was going to be $3500. The Granite $8,000, the cabinet painting about $1500. Glad I got the mold damage coverage on the policy!

Chicken Parm you taste so good. And thank you Whirlpool for your shitty 2 year old dishwasher leaking from a valve.

Sales is a tough job, mentally. I could never do it. When I'm out sweating in July I always think "At least I'm not sweating getting a deal through!". My wife is a sales manager.

All the waiters and valet parkers and clerks on this board hate Christmas week!

We closed our company btw Christmas and New Years, had to give out 3 free vacation days but the small number of employees who don't take vacation over the holidays are inevitably totally unproductive cause everyone else is out. I'm with you, fuck-off week forever!

My wife always takes off these two weeks. It's nice for her, because she's not bothered by people at work, since they too are usually off.... For me, it just "honey do" week... "honey paint, honey finish trim...." Memorial weekend it my favorite.

So far I've painted the kitchen, daughter's room. My bed room will get done today. I have to replace a light and a bunch of receptacles and fix a sink in our mud room. And replace a toilet....
