Sandman, a Canadian Metallica tribute band with about 400 fans on Facebook, received a 41-page cease and desist order from none-other than the metal giants themselves. Well, their team of lawyers at least. Guitarist and vocalist Joe Di Taranto noted via Facebook: "So as some of you may or may not know, in my spare time fromWarmachine, I play in a couple tribute acts, one being a Metallica tribute called Sandman. "Well last night when we arrived at the venue for our show in London, ON, we were served with 'Cease & Desist' papers courtesy of Metallica's lawyers. Quite funny! LOL!" Even though they seem just a small 'Tallica tribute, one of probably hundreds that exist around the world, the guys caught the lawyers' attention by using "Metallica's logos on or to identify or promote live musical performances through Facebook and YouTube."
