I've been on a cannibal movie kick lately. Watched Eaten Alive the other day and Cannibal Holocaust last night. Going to watch Mountain of the Cannibal God and maybe Cannibal Ferox later.

I have one of the first DVDs of Cannibal Holocaust, only version I've ever seen, and I'm thinking there may be scenes cut from it. I did a quick search on amazon and noticed that Grindhouse Releasing put out 2-disc version awhile back. The feature that really stood out for me is the ability to watch the movie without the scenes of animal cruelty. I'm honestly curious if that will weaken the impact of the movie for me, since I have an awful time watching and coming to terms with that shit. The bit where that asshole sadistically stabs that rat in the chest a few times while it writhes in agony is fucking horrible to watch.

Such a strong dose of violence, maybe the most violent movie I can think of. The old Italian cannibal flicks are about the only types of horror movies that make any impact for me anymore. Still tough to watch after all these years!

    Going to read this soon:

Not something I'm interested in watching on youtube, but thanks. Going to pick it up on Blu Ray maybe someday, or grab that Grindhouse DVD.

I wonder if Jay Slater from 'Eaten Alive' went on to any other great movie roles?
