    Should we call them piglets?
Harley-Davidson has launched a new lineup of small, affordable motorcycles aimed at urban and emerging markets.
The Street 500 and Street 750 are powered, respectively, by all-new 500 cc and 750 cc versions of Harley’s V-twin Revolution engine, dubbed Revolution X. The two-seaters feature six-speed manual transmissions and belt drive.
Harley says they were designed to offer greater agility and response for use on crowded city streets, with a low seat and suspension tuned for bad road surfaces. Along with their compact size comes a low price for the brand, starting at $6,700 in the United States.
Both Streets are built on the first new platform for Harley since it introduced the then radical V-Rod in 2001, which was powered by the company’s first liquid cooled, overhead cam engine. In a big departure for the Milwaukee-based company, the new motorcycles will be manufactured at the company’s recently-opened facility in India and exported around the world, while North American-bound models will be produced at its Kansas City factory.
Sales of the Street bikes begin next spring in the U.S., Italy, Spain, Portugal and India before expanding to other markets in 2015.

I have a bike made in India. They have been mass producing singles longer than any other country. Truimphs are made in Thialand. Harley has been modulating and outsourcing for a while now. Free market. Does Harley make a carburated bike anymore. Not knocking Harley just never had the $ and I like the old stuff or dirt bikes

Urban Market ? Do they come with over powered sound systems and super loud exhaust ? Do they have provisions so it's easier to drag your overpriced tennis shoes ? are they going to be so unstable that, it will be easier to ride like a total douchebag ?

Of course this has nothing at all to do with Harley but it's something I heard on the radio driving home today. It's pretty fucking awesome!
1953 Triumph Tiger T100 Stolen in 1967 Found and Returned

They say it's better late than never, and these words may be right. Here's a story which kind of supports this truth, even though in a somewhat funny way. An 1953 Triumph bike was reported stolen in Omaha, Neb in 1967.

In a completely mysterious way the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents at the Los Angeles-Long Beach port came across this British jewel and seized immediately. It was restored and also got some modifications and was heading for Yokohama, Japan.

The bike was listed for $9,000 in the border papers, but if the rightful owner decides to sell it, the old triumph might bring him up to $16,000, according to Bikernet. Which could be far compensation for all this time, especially as the uninsured bike was worth $300 in February 1967.

No arrests have been made so far, and the former owner, now 72 was reunited with his machine.

They said the old guy still rides and that he can't wait to get it back. I can only imagine.

H-D no longer makes bikes with carburetors. All have been EFI for a few years now.

That story warms the cuckholds of my heart.
No better bike. I don't know if a seventy year old will be able to kick start it.

I had a 2003 model 500 with factory sidecar for a couple years. Was fun for a while but that new penny quickly tarnished. Quirky bike and a bear to adjust the pushrods with the sidecar in the way.

    :rolleye:

Saw two guys out with their bikes when the wife and I went out to dinner Saturday. One was a mint '75 RD350, stock other than some Clubman bars and a first generation Goldwing (late 70's?) totally done up cafe style. The guy with the RD said he loved riding it more than his Softtail FLXSCHC-whateverthefuckitwas.

I'll ride anything. Won't buy a jap car, but bikes anything goes. I covet them all, except those ones made by that guy on the Discovery Channel that look unridable and built for cleaning/polishing

Are the vibes on an Enfield as unbearable as I think they are?
