From the time he was a boy he sang with his mother. Soul, Rock, Gospel, Funk, R&B. It didn't matter what type of music it was, Carl sang it. He idolized Michael Jackson and wanted to grow up to be a famous performer just like him. Tragically, at the age of 13 Carl's mother was shot in a robbery gone wrong. Carl grew up that day, as he became father to his 5 younger siblings. Vowing to fight crime Carl cast his singing dreams aside and became a cop so that no child would ever relive his struggles. He became known around the precinct as "The Singing Cop", always belting out a tune with a smile. When Carl's partner was killed in a robbery, The Singing Cop was distraught at the loss, one he said he'd never let happen. He knew he had a duty at his brother's funeral, to sing the national anthem to open the proceedings.
