I was watching the movie "Mystery Men" the other night. Actually the best movie Artie ever appeared in. Anyway, the villain in the movie was named Casanova Frankenstein. While watching I was thinking. Howard would have been perfect for that role. I wonder if Howard was offered the role of Casanova Frankenstein? Did Howard ever mention this?

Another amaaazing recasting would have BethO as the "PMS Avenger" who showed up at the tryouts and had the heroes cowering in fear. "Mystery Men" is a movie that will have you rolling if you isolate some of the absurd lines. It reminds me of "Raising Arizona" in this way.

All I remember is that that movie sucked balls, and yet I kept watching it waiting for it to get better, because the concept was good and the cast talented. It never got better. Godawful.

The fat bloated hack is only in the first five minutes as the leader of the gang that kicks there asses.

Yes after Howard the radio host who had one underwhemlingly performing movie where he badly played himself to his credit turned the movie down the studio went to their second less desirable choice. Academy award winner Geoffrey Rush.
