Finished that documentary today on the jumpers.

It sucked. I'm so sorry I wasted that time on it. Never saw the end result of a jumper. WTF is that shit?

    Who was better?
Busey as Buddy Holly or Steve Railsback as Charlie? Two great performances regardless.

I am deep into some gossip threads on a site where some insiders post, and I just read that Manson was a Scientolo!!!

Manson wasn't a Scientologist per se, but an offshoot, the Process Church of the Final Judgement (founded by a former Scientologist goon) is believed to have had some influence on Charlie's philosophy.

There's more to it. Like their alleged ties to the Four Pi Movement. It's all conspiracy theory gobbledygook, but fun to get lost in nonetheless.

Crowley used to hang out with L. Ron as well.

If you have any interest in the whole Manson thing I'd highly recommend "the Family" by Ed Sanders from the Fugz. Good overview. If you're looking for a play by play you cannot do better than Paul Watkins "My Life with Charles Manson". No idea if they ever reprinted it but it's really good.

On a sadder note back in my teens my GF kept dropping hints about how I was going to love what her Mom was getting me for xmas. Finally I pestered her into telling me it was going to be the Moms ORIGINAL copy of the "Lie" record. The mother found out I knew and ended up giving me some stupid picture of me and my girl. Worst xmas ever.

Truth on Tate / LaBianca? I used to post there.

If you haven't already, check out Manson In His Own Words by Nuel Emmons. Manson dismissed it as garbage since it really does a job on debunking much of the mystique, but I think there's a lot of truth in it.

Yeah that Watkins book has been out of print for ages, fetches $200+.

Robert Hendrickson's documentary was just awesome, no other word to describe it. Nothing else even comes close.

There's also this recent tome on the subject but expect to shell out a good deal for it. I think he was charging 100 bucks including shipping awhile back, got my copy on ebay for 30 bucks.

Lipstick Alley--they have threads that go on for years.

    Thanks for the tips, Air!!!

    Will check them both out.

Manson was SUCH a master of the head-game, he got others to do his dirty work.

Still ended up in prison, but dude obvs knew how to run some game.

I love Duchovny'series Aquarius, which is all about Manson.

I read a number of places that Manson became "clear" via some prison program. Who knows. Yr certainly right about the Process....Funkadelic too!

I was going to say I was always more interested in the Crowley connection to L Ron and then just read online it was mostly bull. This type of stuff was a lot funner to find out about when you couldn't verify the veracity in two seconds on the fucking internet. I still need to read that book on Jack Parsons though....that dude was in the thick of it with all these cats.
