I'm looking for cheap photoshop software, nothing real fancy. Just something that will allow me to do small edit on photos like crop a head and put it on another picture. Just something to goof around with. I don't really want to pay $699 for cs6.

    Any ideas?

    thanks:hat:

Paint.Net is a solid program and it's free (it's open source)

Otherwise there is Adobe Elements, it's around 150$ if I remember correctly. You can try a 1 month free trial with them.

I consider myself ok with Photoshop and was told to forget CS6. It's for people who are experts in the field. Forget about that.

Is free cheap enough? Download Gimp image manipulation program at gimp.org.

Gimp is good and there're a million tutorials on it. Also, Schmoopy is happy to answer any questions you may have.

Yeah I was gonna say GIMP. PhotoShop can be a monster because it's got almost infinite capabilities, but you gotta take some classes to be able to do much with it, IMHO...

Damn! I thought I was cool because I've got a pirated version of CS2......I barely can use about 2% of it's capabilities, though....

I used CS2 for YEARS and also only used about 2% of it.

I finally ordered one of those "One on One PS Training" DVDs and it was amazing. In 2 minutes I learned enough to cut my photoshopping time in more than half.

I've tried using online tutorials, like on Lynda.com, but I get impatient. In one of my old jobs I worked with people who could do in 10 seconds what might take me hours to do.....:suicide:

I took a class that met once a week for about 6 weeks. It was at a local community center. It was strictly for processing photographs but I learned a shitload and it was kind of fun. Seems like it was really cheap too.
