    Computers are so cheap these days might as well get a new one. Repairing an old one who's tech is prolly close to or already outdated is ridiculous.

    Buy a replacement panel off of ebay. Unscrew the bezel around the screen, swap the panel out and voila. Takes 10 minutes.

    I had to replace mine after an unfortunate recliner accident :what:

    Older laptop? New shit is a PITA to take apart, especially those really thin laptops that use fucking glue as well as screws to hold things together, and instead of having easily removable ribbon cable with ZIF connectors, are soldered direct to the board.

    Anyway, ifixit is a good resource for disassembly of various tech item.

    Yeah, I had to make the repair like 3 years ago, and it was a regular sized Dell. I bet the machines with the thin lids are a different beast.
