It's like when video stores like Blockbuster all started to fade away.

    RIP XM-Sirius...

2015 Chevy Products to Offer Built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspots This Year

The technology will allow multiple users and devices to use the Internet at the same time.

While quite a few automakers are at the 2014 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, debuting all kinds of digital gadgetry, it was the news from Chevrolet that will probably have the biggest impact on the industry, at least in the near-term future: Beginning this summer, Chevy will bring mobile wi-fi access to the mainstream by launching OnStar 4G LTE technology on the “majority” of its lineup for the 2015 model year

Why would anyone still pay for satellite when they can get Pandora, Amazon music, Apple icloud, Google music and Spotify all for free on a wifi connection? Maybe they want news and talk and sports? No... they have apps for all that: Fox News, ESPN, Iheartradio, Tune-in, etc.

Not to mention all the podcasts - Adam Carolla, etc.

Yeah, but that yellow antenna on top is unsightly.

The only thing Sirius XM has going for it now is that smartphone coverage fades in and out all the time unless you're in an area with a great signal. If you have Wifi in your car, this issue is a non-issue.

Why the fuck would anyone pay a monthly fee for a separate cellular connection for their car when you can turn on the hotspot feature of your fucking phone and do the same thing? What am I missing?

This shit is dead in the water. It will require yet another sim account for the user. Why not just allow tethering from you existing device? Only retards will pony up another 70$ a month for another account.

My smartphone coverage is WAY better than my shitty satellite coverage. I lose my XM signal if I drive under a tree or an overpass.

Why? It would use the same LTE connection your phone uses.

The cost will be all rolled in the same monthly bill you're paying now, maybe a little more in the beginning.

Would be nice if it could just be another "device" on my plan. I'd pay $15 a month to add my car to my cell plan and just share data.

Get real. I'm not paying any extra for this stupid shit - sounds like you can't wait (or work for AT&T).

When I get in my car it connects to my phone and all my shit shows up on my screen. The coverage is exactly the same as it would be if I were paying extra for another sim account. This is exactly what the piece of shit cell companies want you to do.

Really? My Sirius has never cut out. I have 3 vehicles with it. Never a problem in 4 years.

How does satellite radio lose? It's an evolution in technology. They just go from developing content to a satellite data carrier and licensing bandwidth.
