The happiest couples are those without children -- at least, that's according to research out of the United Kingdom's Open University.

The study titled "Enduring Love?" found that childless married and unmarried couples reported being more satisfied in life and feeling more valued by their partners than did pairs with kids.

Funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, the research involved intensive interviews and surveys with more than 5,000 people of all ages and sexual orientations in long-term relationships.

The child factor also influenced intimacy levels among couples. Fathers were twice as likely to cite a lack of sexual intimacy as the biggest downfall of their relationships, while mothers reported that they want to have sex less often than their partners do.

A coworker invited me over for a beer after work, nice guy but we never did anything socially before. He lives on the way home for me. I pull up to his front door and I hear complete chaos behind the door. The door opens and it's like something out of a movie - kids screaming and fighting, running around everywhere. The television blasting some kid's cartoon. So much noise. We go out to the patio and soon enough things spill out there too. Total circus. Can't walk 5 feet without having to step over something. Every 30 seconds, he interrupted himself to instead scold the kids, tell them no, open a tight lid, etc.

    Strange universe.

The even stranger part is how parents are not "allowed" to be honest, even with themselves and have regrets. The only acceptable answer, ever, is "... yeah it's a lot of work, but it's worth it, wouldn't trade it for the world" when the truth is, a huge, huge % of them are completely lying when they say this.

One of my customers sons left his garage door open on the coldest night of the year last week.

Froze and broke a few pipes and killed about 12 tropical trees that he keeps on his patio during the summer.

Made me really happy I don't have kids.

Sorry Pierre, but I disagree with you...

Yeah, we had some challenges raising our boys, and yeah, we had to work at it, but, it's what we wanted to do. I never considered my boys a burden...I was well aware of what I was getting into when we decided to have kids.

Of course, I never let my kids run my life...my kids were never allowed to behave like wild animals...

    Why bother?

Use your time to train your kids to be independent...makes things much easier in the end...

yep, home for the holidays and out late with his friends.

I tried to tell his dad that there was probably a block of ice by the door from the snow melt off the car and it triggered the doors safety switch causing to open after he closed it, but the dad wasn't buying it.

Yeah, I am sure he was aware that the dad was aware that his kid was a dope.

What I don't understand is, didn't people think about this before?? I mean, it's pretty obvious what you're getting in to; people act like it's such a surprise .....

It boils down to this, most of us brainwash ourselves into believing our predicament is the best one for us.
