I prefer the brother peter, christopher might be the better speaker and I agree with his views on religion, but he was on the wrong side of the argument when it came to the iraq war and was a huge cheerleader for w bush and tony blair.
“My own opinion is enough for me, and I claim the right to have it defended against any consensus, any majority, anywhere, any place, any time. And anyone who disagrees with this can pick a number, get in line, and kiss my ass.”

after watching his many debates on iraq , I'm with Hitch.
Yay your hero is a guy who literally drank himself to death
He died of cancer not alcoholism.
It was esophageal cancer caused by a steady diet of Johnny Walker Black
Oh snap, I thought you meant Christopher Walken...
It was pneumonia that developed due to the cancer. There isn't one known thing that lead to his cancer. Although alcohol and tobacco are risk factors, there are many other risk factors as well, including poorly controlled acid reflux. So, it's not accurate to simply say he drank himself to death.
I believe he is the originator of the quote, Dogs have owners - cats have staff ....
I don't think there is any doubt that he drank a lot which leads me to wonder why a guy with so much intellectual curiosity would waste his time killing brain cells.
And I think he smoked for many yrs as well. For such a "bright guy" you would think he would have gotten the message that all that stuff is bad for you in the long run.
I had walking phenoma...it's a B word and deadly if your not young and strong and y and s don't get it.
that radio guy who was assassinated..he was good too.
he broadcast out of AZ I forget his nmae
Funny how smart people seem when they agree with you.
Did he come across as the type who would have gave a fuck, regardless of?
One of the very times I've cried over the death of someone I didn't know. He could be a condescending mofo and I didn't agree with everything he said, but I'd stop and listen to his take on anything. Even after 10 scotches, he was always the smartest, most articulate person the room.
