I usually get a cheap GE one at Walmart and they last for a couple of years.

Eh... creates too much trash. I just want a simple, quality coffee maker that's easy to clean. This was a dumb idea for a thread. Fuck.

A French press coffee maker is the way to go. With filtered water. And freshly roasted beans from the nice lady at the local farmer's market. And don't wuss out, use the correct amount of coffee:

Regardless of method, brew using 2 heaping tablespoons of coffee for each 6 ounces of clean (filtered or bottled), cool water. If you prefer a milder cup, brew to full strength, and then dilute with hot water. Brewing with too little coffee will result in over-extraction, and that means bitterness.

Grind your beans in a burr grinder.

Fucking PERFECT cup of coffee, I tell you. Worth the trouble to do it right. One cup a day.

That's just not enough coffee for me.
I get up at 4am and have an 8 cup pot of coffee waiting for me. Strong, but not too strong because I drink it black. I make it the same way I've made it for about 40 years, and never fucked up a pot of coffee.
One rounded teaspoon for every cup you're making, and then one extra one. :coffee:
I take the last cup of the pot out the door with me when I leave about 6:30 or so.
    BZZZZT! :spaz:
