So now the US Government wants to censor the internet for the entire world?
    It's a slippery slope, I'm afraid.

    From Demonoid's front page:

In the United States, a new law proposal called The Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act (COICA) was introduced last week, and there will be a hearing in front of the Judiciary Committee this Thursday.

If passed, this law will allow the government, under the command of the media companies, to censor the internet as they see fit, like China and Iran do, with the difference that the sites they decide to censor will be completely removed from the internet and not just in the US.

Please see the following article from the Huffington Post for more information. :cuss:

    Click for Huffington's article.

Please take the time to sign the petition against this, because once it starts, they won't stop. Once they start pulling websites down for ANY reason, it won't stop there.
Do we need basically an FCC for the internet? What will there next target be? Here's a little hint. Starts with a "p". And then? :sadbye:
    SIGN THE PETITION HERE!

Yes, but lets keep SFN drama off of this forum. We have nothing to do with it. We are NOT going to be the place where people come here and bitch about SFN or Mutt.

Take a lot for granted, don't you? There's tons of legal content out there for download.
And you've paid for every mp3 you have, right?
Ever burn a disc for a friend, or vice versa?
Ever loaned a game to a friend, or borrow one? I can go on.

    My point was:
Once the government starts jerking websites off of the internet, do you really think they'll stop with file sharing? Maybe the christian right will lobby to get porn off of the internet, using children as their tool of choice.

Does "Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act " involve Tube site's ?

I don't do Torrent site's since i received a letter from my cable company that some company was trying to get information about my IP for downloading "True Blood" (my daughter) . So i deleted my torrent crap from my computer . I didn't wanna be involved in a Napster type lawsuit bullshit. The letter ended with "This will be the only letter we will send you on this subject" , Anyone ever get one of these letters :dontknow:

I got a nice copy of Parallels and Windows 7 Ultimate off there this weekend to run on my Mac. Both work wonderful, along with a copy of Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac. It was a good weekend.
