Since most of us cannot afford a full-time DVR specialist to mange our viewing habits, I will seek the advice of others. Which current seasons do I catch up on and what should I delete and forget about forever?

The Walking Dead - I have a few episodes from last season and whatever's aired this season. My instinct is to stop watching the show.

AHS: Coven - I watched the first two episodes and got bored with it. How has it been since?

    Brooklyn Nine-Nine - Not watched

    Sleepy Hollow - Not watched

    Masters of Sex -Not watched

What's collecting on your DVR? If anybody whose caught up on these shows could help out... please do.

Not really the point, but when I have a Roku box hooked up in every room I'll consider that option.

    I like AHS.
    I like Masters os Sex.
I watch Walking Dead out of habit.
    Have not watched the others.

BTW just got a ROKU. I like it but it is taking a little time to learn to navigate.

I just got into Sleepy Hollow and it is really good and a lot better than I expected. I found out it is exec produced Howard Kurtzman, who also produces The Walking Dead.

I have Tivos and it's easy to upgrade the internal HD to 2TB. Means that I can store even more shows that I never get around to watching...

Just out of interest, Is there anything I can get to actually take the video files off the DVR (to use on my computer etc)? I'd be interested something like that.

no they are encrypted on disc and the key is typically associated with the specific dvr that recorded it, so you can't even move them from an old dvr to a new one.

I use one of these: HDPVR
To archive episodes of "SOA" and "Walking Dead" from my HD-DVR cable box.
They have a newer version now with HDMI input. HDPVR-2

Hah! Believe it or not but I actually already have one of them. I bought it for occasionally recording video games and a few other things. Your method is a good idea though! I guess what you do is just play the programme you want in the background and then record it with the Hauppage?

However, honestly I was more looking for something that could just crack into the box and copy the data off the the PVR's harddrive. I gotta figure that would be quicker and easier and that it can be done somehow, but I've yet to hear a way. :(

Old horror movies that were played during Halloween week.
Some TCM movies. Although I did start to watch The Big Sleep and was just getting into it when the recording froze ... now I''m gonna have to D/L it or get a dvd ... could not believe how good it was.
Supernatural ... I'd watch it but my wife likes it too. I usually watch the last episode before it gets kicked off the list (I limit it to 5) because she'll rarely sit down while I'm awake.

I'm pretty good at keeping stuff cleared off but now my DVR is up to 95% filed with Bubbleguppies, Team Umizoomie, Thomas the mother fucking train and HGTV BS. You'd think the more people were in your presence that your high viewing standards would rub off on em. My 4 year old just doesn't get it!

I have about 10 episodes of New Girl that I haven't watched yet. It is a pretty funny show and I have a major Girl crush on Zooey Deschanel
