People knew the value of a Penney and no guarantees on the next paycheck.
No going to 7/11 and buying a Snickers and Big Gulp with your credit card.
You made do with less and rationed.
Completely different mentality with our parents and grandparents.

    pre-pearl harbor
    pre-atomic bomb
pre-living in a country that has the term 'super bowl baby'

btw how fucking stupid is that term? ... I look at commercials like that and just cringe about how idiotic some shit is nowadays.

I was a mlb playoffs baby.. guess my parents love wasn't that requited because they didn't fuck when joe montana smoked the broncos and won MVP in 1990

"Diesel Electric will never replace steam" said the brakeman.

This was manufactured by Electro-Motive Division of General Motors in LaGrange Ill, in 1938.

    Steam was doomed.

That guy in the second-to-last photo was probably born before the end of the Civil War.

The reason we have all this shit today is because back then minorities (blacks etc) were not prevalent in our society. They did not contribute to social or entertainment or music or the arts or anything that could taint society. Things really started to change in the mid 80s when blacks gained more of a foothold (especially rap crap) and now we have what we have today. We need a wayback machine to make things right.
