On February 27, 2014, Beth humbly announced to the world that she had joined the popular photo-sharing social networking service Instagram. The tweet got 65 likes. The first reply came six minutes later, from Joey Boots: "I'll follow you but only if you post cat pics." In the two years and three months since then, Beth has posted a staggering 10,000 photos and videos on Instagram -- mainly cat pics. Her posting average breaks down to an astonishing one post every 80 minutes of every 16-hour waking day -- for the past 832 days straight. But that average includes the early days, when she was far less active than she is now. Beth's current posting average is 22 per day from the hours of 7 am to 9 pm., or one photo every 38 minutes, everyday. As such, she's on track to post her next 10,000 photos in just 454 days, and should hit 20,000 posts by September 5, 2017. Beth Stern has more posts on Instagram than the combined total of: Instagram (3,230 posts / 164,533,545 followers) Selena Gomez (1,198 posts / 82,193,875 followers Taylor Swift (909 posts / 79,831,853) Ariana Grande (2,276 posts / 73,919,314 followers) Beyonce (1,289 posts / 72,733,785 followers) Nike (833 posts / 49,106,110 followers) However, those accounts have a combined total of 523,318,000 followers -- or 523,044,000 more than Beth has. From the archives: Beth and Hilaria Baldwin both posted and then immediately deleted this photo in Beth's early days of Instagram. It's probably safe to assume that Beth has posted more photos of cats than any account on Instagram. (8,000 of her 10,000 posts is a conservative estimate.) Cat Fancy magazine has only 379 total posts. ASPCA has only 706 total posts. Animal Planet has just 783 total posts. PETA has only 3,538 total posts. North Shore Animal League has only 4,235 total posts. nala_cat comes closest to Beth's post count with 4,552, but that cat has almost 3 million followers (Beth has just 274,000). In just two years and three months, Beth has documented the miracle of Yoda's sad heart, claimed the hashtag #mypurpose as her own, posed countless kittens next to luxury shoes and purses that her followers could never dream of owning -- -- exposed her followers to an alarming number of photos of blinded kittens, and shown sneak peaks into the jealousy-inducing home life she and Howard share together on weekends. Please join me (and @Dlist, who also had this thread idea, but is tied up all this week) in sharing some of your favorite Beth Stern Instagram achievements.
