In my opinion, we don't have any GOOD candidates leading the polls on either side. For Dem supporters, if you had to have a Republican in the White House, would this guy be OK?

Ohio has seen a massive turnaround under Governor Kasich. Unemployment has been crushed, the state budget is doing great, and he's making progress on many fronts.

He's not too far right, and you can't paint him as dogmatic.

When he was asked why he had an all-white cabinet, he said: "I don't look at things from the standpoint of any of these sort of metrics that people tend to focus on, race or age, or any of those things. It's not the way I look at things... I want the best possible team I can get."

His father was a mailman, and both of his parents were killed in a car crash. He's worked for big business, and he's not a pure politician like Gore, Bush or Biden (or Obama).

He's against the teachers' union, but likes unions of groups who "build things."

You need to win the middle to win the election, VegasGirl.

No way, no how, does an arch-conservative win the White House in the current environment.

He's a candidate that could win, so the republicans will never nominate him.

Not true, and history has not shown that. We have lost with moderates like Dole, McCain, and Romney because the conservatives stay home.

The current environment will even be tougher for a moderate. Many moderates and liberals seem to run "to the right" when they are campaigning and then when they get elected (see Mitch McConnell, John Boehner), they screw us over.

He's my "Huntsman" this go-around. I like his more centrist views except for the religious gobbledegook.. but then again he may be just pandering to the radical right. Like Huntsman, and unlike a lot of these jokers including Romney, he has a high approval rating in his state, has actually run Ohio efficiently and has been rewarded by being re-elected. He's no "1-term" joker.

Presently, short of any other/new information regarding him, or any of the Donkeys, he'd be who I'd vote for - and more proactively than I've voted for any presidential candidate in awhile...as usually my vote is determined by whom I'm least negatively predisposed.

Yes! Out of all the candidates he is the most qualified. He will have a hard time though with the far right. No one should sit out this election. Who ever the Republican nominee is all Republicans need to support. No one candidate is going to meet everyone's expectations in every area. Poopy pants Hillary and "war on women" Willy can not get back in office.:coffee:

I live in Ohio and I belong to this union, so I will not be supporting him. He tried to demolish collective bargaining for more than just the teachers.

Also love how lefites want to keep choosing the GOP candidates, the same losers over and over. I would ask the GOP voters the same thing I'd ask AA Dem voters, what has voting for the same type of candidate gotten you?

It's weird this thread was posted because I was thinking the same thing. Kasich appears to be a Republican who isn't in that Palin, Cruz, Walker, Bachmann, Trump, Perry, etc, etc, etc, school of Fox News/talk radio extreme faggotry.

However, "the Base" doesn't like him. They insist on someone from the clown car.
