I've had a Cuisinart for a few years and couldn't be happier with it. I got it because it's a reasonable size to do some light baking but not so big that it overwhelms our counterspace. Most of it's use is for toaster oven type chores but it does a fantastic job with anything from cookies, to nachos, to beef brisket. I would replace it with the same model if something horrible should happen to it. The model we have got great reviews when I was doing my research as well.
I want one to make the most perfect biscuits and I have been looking at the cuisinarts for some time. The one thing I never hear about is the noise. How loud is the fan in convection mode?

Thanks Lem! I have some other things from that brand and I'm a fan. I'm trying to use those comparison tools right now but first hand accounts I find are most helpful sometimes!
I see some with a rotisserie feature - would you ever use this top of small appliance for that??
Just for the heck of it I just turned it on in convection mode to hear the fan noise. You can certainly hear that a fan is running if you are in the area but it is loads quieter than an average microwave. With the television on in the background (F1 race) the fan is barely audible. Another thing that I forgot to mention.....IMO it is one of the more aesthetically pleasing toaster/convection ovens out there.

Nice kitchen. Mine is the original from when the house was built in 1891. No cabinets. No counters. The stove was upgraded in 1922 though. lol
My wife does a tray of meat/cheese nachos for me and just cheese for her (vegetarian) every few weeks and they are all kinds of yummy. Less cleanup than the full size oven plus it heats up faster. No muss, no fuss!
No nachos today......just reheated leftover pizza in it though. Delicious!
I'm not a baker, but I use my convection oven to brown chicken, turkey and other roast kind of meats

nothing really bogs it down? I use a lot of cilantro in my salsa. Ive killed a blender and a cheap processor already.
They're gay as fuck but they make decent smoothies
awesome - I remember that picture and you and BH mentioning about the ovens, that's when i started noticing most of the stuff I've been doing could be done in one instead of my old incinerator oven.
I think it's between this and a kitchenaid one, however that one is not as aesthetically pleasing and has dials instead of buttons. I don't mind dials, just doesn't look as unobtrusive. I also like that you can buy a second shelf for the CA one.
