My back yard includes a section of forest that ends at a stream, at the treeline it's a 30ft. drop off to the stream area so I just fenced it off at the treeline. I get a half dozen different creatures in my yard in the middle of the night including deer, foxes, and a type of ferret. My office window faces the yard, when ever these animals come into my yard at night, my security lights turn on and then I look to see what's out there. 80% of the time it's my neighbors stupid cats from around me, the rest of the time it's something wild.

The northeast is being inundated with coyotes. When I was growing up we were taught they lived out west in the desert areas. By the time I moved to TX I had a coyote living in my backyard down by the river. Beautiful animal and he avoided my yard as I had 120 pound shepherd/husky/pit mix. I was out trying to shoot some lightning pictures when a bolt hit about 100 yards away in the woods. The coyote came tear assing out of the woods straight at me. I was standing in the middle of the road (It was a dead end) and when he saw me in front of him his look got even more scared looking as he dropped his ass and slid trying to stop. The look of terror on that animals face was priceless. He finally slowed enough to catch some traction and tore off around me towards his den.

    Cool.

Yep, by me, I have rabbits and hawks too. It's so cool, enjoying my morning coffee while watching the food chain in progress.
