BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A pickup truck crashed on I-93 North Sunday, launching off the upper deck of the expressway before landing on the southbound lower deck, according to Massachusetts State Police. The 2006 Toyota Tacoma crashed through a light pole, an exit sign and chain link fence, then hit a barrier dividing 93 and Route 1, which propelled it down onto the lower deck. The driver behind the wheel, 33-year-old Vannak Sao of East Boston, was "extricated" from the truck by firefighters, according to State Police. He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital. State Police have summoned Sao to court on charges of operating under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. The crash, which occurred just after 6:20 a.m., did not involve any other vehicles.
