[IMG][IMG]Dane Cook is set to star in the NBC’s single-camera comedy pilot Next Caller Please. The Lionsgate/Universal TV project, written by Stephen Falk, centers on Cam Doherty (Cook), a brash, hard-drinking, no-filter maverick DJ of a satellite radio show whose world is rocked with the arrival of perky, feminist new on-air co-host Stella Stoobler (Collette Wolfe). Cook’s casting stems from the NBC development deal he signed last fall. Cook most recently guest starred on the FX comedy Louie and appeared in the features Answers to Nothing, Detention and Guns and Girls & Gambling. UTA-repped Cook has a very successful stand-up career: He has sold out arena venues such as Madison Square Garden and Staples Center, released several multi-platinum comedy albums and DVDs and starred in a slew of cable standup specials.

that doesn't mention or even describe Howard- now if he was playing a sellout milquetoast seems-gay senile DJ... maybe.
Anthony is the only hard drinking brash no filter satellite DJ

Sounds more like Anthony Cumia than Howard. But I'm sure they will reference Howard regularly.

Nope not Howard. Since this is NBC if it is any good it will be cancelled and if it sucks, which it will it will get at least a 2 year run.

Doesn't sound anything like Stern....now, if it was called "Bobo, you're on the air" than I might begin to wonder.

If it said "boring, marble hungry, trophy wife castrating, cargo pants and hoodie wearing, elderly, wig wearing, hipocritical, lying, lazy, fake chinned, and DWTS and The Bachelor Fanatic" then I would think they were basing the show on Howard

If he does live reads during the show for a cheating web site, then he would be definitely playing that brash and edgy Howard Stern!

Of course the original name was "Anything Else, Robin?"

Sounds more like that short lived Kelsey Grammer / Patricia Heaton thing that no one (including me) ever saw.

Although if it is modeled after Howard, I suppose it's fitting that an unfunny comic is playing a now-unfunny DJ.

They'll never get this concept right....because they are "unable" to explore what should be the actual concept that
people might actually develop an interest in watching week in and week out. (...buzzworthy BS etc.)

Welcome to the business of TV....what demo please?

I wonder if Dane Cook will promote myspace or Tab cola or some other thing we all give a fuck about.
