Oh, boo hoo, you can't step out of the box between every pitch and do your stupid spit clap routine. Retire already, fuckface.

Yeah I agree he's being stupid about this. Mlb is smart to make some changes , it's a business that has been losing fans , and their employees ie players need to follow the rules.

Let's see how much shorter the games are, on average, when it all get's tallied next fall.

And, how about having a fucking World Series game during the day, on a Saturday or Sunday?

The rules proposed seem pretty legit to me. Could shorten the game on the average of 30 min imo.

Btw I don't care. I like a long game. But it's the way of the world. And it's a business.

I enjoy the long slow pace of the game. Time to think and strategize about every pitch.

Tv man... same reason the nfl operates on the red zone channel now, and it really doesn't matter if there is a team in L.A

They're all hitting critical mass now though. It's all a cash grab at the deflating pie as we sit now in our lifetime

I'm on a hockey forum that I rarely post on, but they always compare the sport to the NFL and i can't stand it. Same here.

If the NFL was 82 or 162 games the ratings would be a fraction of what they are, yet the volume of games and ratings obviously keeps up with the nfl looking at player salaries.

The NY teams are always setting attendance records and the ratings move with how good the teams are. The NFL is unique in that you can watch out of market teams. I only watch a couple of out of market teams in hockey and none in any other sport. You aren't going to replicate that with banning stepping out of the batter's box.

Not that it matters to me as far as purity goes. Baseball players didn't pull the shit they do now decades ago. The undoing/redoing of the gloves, staring out to the outfield, taking a deep breath, grabbing your cock BS they do to delay the pitch is fairly new.

There's still plenty of money in the sport.

Hockey baseball and basketball can't lean on the fantasy sport windfall that has swept the nfl in the past decade though...

I don't know why the league commissioners don't get that.

The nfl enjoys an office league style march madness every week of the season.

I'm not advocating cheapening the games by any means, but the nhl started to unravel with the fox rocket pucks and getting away from the purists...

The nba fell with catering to... Urbans that can't afford their shoes without murdering each other.

    MLB fell with Selig

Agreed. The gambling aspect is huuuuge. People turn in en masse even in their free leagues just to see if their Doug Baldwin pick up will put them over the top. At least that's what i heard...from what other people do... :worried:
