Everyone thought Price was the #1 free agent pitcher on the market and nobody wanted to pay for Cueto because he had a bad post season. Well the stats dont lie. They are both the same age btw.

    ERA-W/L-SO-WHIP

    Price 4.68-8-4-110-1.22

    Cueto 2.42-11-1-98-1.02

    Cueto 6 yr/130 m vs Price 7 yr/217 m

I used to think that but the KC Royals made back to back World Series on a smaller budget. Pirates make playoffs 3 years in a row on a small budget.

Cueto---I watched him a lot last year
    he had a few gems
but he was not good an awful lot

he's a little fragile in the melon I think
though after watching Price melt after that fuck in the field with the Jays/Royals he might be a little as well

That's fine but doesn't change my opinion. What the Marlins paid Stanton is going to screw a lot of teams once it comes time for Trout, Harper, etc to get get paid.

Price isn't even the best pitcher on his own team. He is being out pitched by a knuckleballer.

I wonder who has the best record in the AL and tied for the best record in baseball?

And Rougy Odor is the best fighter too!

Ultimately baseball is like the other sports it's about who gets lucky in the draft. Even if you can't afford to resign players you still have them for the first 4-5 years of their career anyway and now with real steroid testing the first 4-5 years are prime years now

All those years the Yankees "bought" championships were really about Gene Michael killing it in the draft in the early 90's

amazing how Cueto's stock dropped so quickly, he was one of the hottest commodities in baseball, a few bad games and everyone kicked him to the curb, reminds me of old Luis Tiant with the different angles his pitches come in at.
