Marshawn Lynch, Running Back for the Seattle Seahawks, is one of the primary components to the team that is competing this Sunday for the NFL Championship. Lynch, also known as 'Beast-Mode' by many fans around NFL cities, is a bruising, crushing back that has averaged over 3.5 yds per carry during his career. He has also been no stranger to controversies during his brief career as well, including alleged assault and DUI charges. But this week is all about the hype for this Sundays Super Bowl, which includes mandatory participation in all media availabilities by all the teams players. Non compliance is punishable by up to 50k in fines, which Lynch has previously been fined for not meeting with media per mandatory requirements after games. This week, Lynch is participating. And it hasn't been a pretty site. In fact, it has been awkward. I'm no psychologist, but it sure looks as though Lynch is as far from comfortable as a human can be. Perhaps, Mr. Lynch doesn't want to address the media per mandatory requirement because he doesn't feel comfortable. His job is to carry a football, not to provide profound quotes. It has been disappointing to see media ask "What makes Lynch so special to avoid the media", rather than looking deeper into the problem, where we might actually find a mental health issue. Yet the media insist on their monkeys dancing.
Take Shiv for an example. I mean this dude is obviously seriously fucked up in the head, yet we all play along like everythings fine. We should be reaching out to Shiv, and asking "Dude, WTF is wrong with you? Pull your shit together!"
I'm going to do the site a favor, and write the occasional Op Ed piece. Now, don't get carried away excited. I'm not promising an article every Monday and Friday, like my hero Paul Krugman.
