Also, I didn't put the old GM Detroit Diesel models down because they were terrible.

Not a truck guy therefore I don't have an opinion besides this one.
The "new" 6.7 Power Stroke is fucking sick.
I just like owning a truck I can work on, no fucking way could I rebuild the turbo on one of those (plus I can't afford one).
The cab has to come off to do anything on the new diesels.
The Duramax pretty much owns ..Only prob seems to be the injectors

Damn, that's almost like one of the F-550's and up with the Cat engine back in the day. What's the rationale for that?
I've never seen a 550 with a Cat. Only the F-650 and up.
We have a duramax for hauling "toys" and a powerstroke work truck. I don't know beans about either, i just hear a lot of bitching about the powerstroke.
You could get it done as an after market conversion, I've only actually seen one in my life though, to be honest (kind of like how you had to get a 460 gas motor put in a 4x4 after market in the 80's).
EDIT: Also, the one I saw had an Allison transmission mated to it, the guy told me it was done by one of the companies that made 4 door Broncos.
the 6.0 and 6.4 were troublesome...
Actually only the 03,04, and some 05 6.0's were turds... the 06 and 07 were pretty badass.
I'd steer clear of any 6.4 but that's just me.
