Dead grandma on Google Street View

Dustin Moore's grandmother died last year but she has lived on in the virtual world thanks to Google Maps.
A street view of his grandmother's Portland, Ore., home shows her sitting on her stoop while reading the newspaper.
Moore decided to share the remarkable photo of his Grandma Alice with the Reddit community. He said he believes it is one of the last photos taken of his beloved grandma, taken less than a year before she passed away.

"I thought it was such an uplifting and awesome picture because it showed just how laid back and awesome she was," Moore wrote Wednesday. "Might not mean much to anyone else, I just thought I would share."
While the picture will one day be updated, Moore told ABC News' Portland affiliate KATU that he was delighted to know Grandma Alice was just a click away.
"I made the joke with my brother," he said. "I was like, 'Well, grandma's gone, but she still somehow lives on in Google and is watching over us."

I remember how grandmom didn't know how to manage a shrub. Any shrub. She had no clue.

 

Misleading title. I was expecting a corpse. Not a picture of her alive a year before she died.

Last year when I was looking for a house I'd look at the listings on Google street view before deciding whether to look at them in person. One of the street views showed 2 pre-teen boys smoking on the street corner.

 

I thought Google was supposed to edit people out of their photos?

In any case, that is a sweet memento for grandma's family.
