We had this old corner store we used to go to, to play. the guy only had one or two machines in the back. We would put quarters up to hold our place.

The store was all jacked up too, I don't think he sold anything there. All I remember is an old store with wooden shelves with nothing on them. I think the owner was an old drunk, but he never bothered us. He made his money from the pinball machine I guess.

One ball was a dime, and 3 balls was a quarter.

Did you ever hear of popping the machine?

when we heard a "popping" it was achieving a score that won a free game.

Was it when you could lift it enough to get a free ball without "tilting" it?

If you became a supporter you can play pinball in the arcade.

In NY, we could only win free games on the "score match"; because the state considered it gambling when you awarded free plays due to a high score:c

BTW - Star Trek was my favorite

    Nope.

Popping meant putting your money in and getting free games.

Every once in a while if the coin went in a certain way something would happen.

If you put a dime in you would get 10 balls to play instead of one.

If you put a quarter in the games credit would start rolling, but you had to stop it before it got to 99. Anyway we always did because we didn't know what would happen when it got to zero. and you had to smack it from the side without tilting it. I was good at popping it every once in a while, but I always had my friends stop it.

So we would end up with like 60 (3 ball games) for a quarter. :cheer:

    Loved pinball.

I went to an orthodontist who had an unlimited rigged Bally Circus. It was so much fun...

My all-time favorite machine that I would totally buy if I had a gameroom is The Addams Family(based on the first movie)...

Hell yeah pinball was fun when I was a kid. We had a pinball machine at the house for a few years, my dad took it with him when my parents divorced. It was a Demolition Derby pinball...
