Did Howard really claim the NY Daily News' Op Ed column vindicated him?

I read in the show listening thread that Howard took the Op Ed responses to the article about him as an admission by the Daily News that he was actually right? Forget that one of the two responses was from Mariann from Brooklyn. Does Howard realize that the Op Ed section is for people to voice opposing views of articles written in the paper? Or does he just hope his audience are too dumb to realize that?

And let's not forget that Mariann's response was stupid and factually incorrect. She claimed the hackers "likened what they did to 9/11" which could not be farther from the truth. They likened their threats of bombing theaters that showed the movie to 9/11. A threat that they never followed through.

And the title of the Op Ed piece was just paraphrasing the first's responses first line.

The Op-Ed section does not necessarily contain only contrary opinions to editorials, it's opinion pieces by people not generally employed by the paper.

Can you link the piece you are referring to?

    Here you go:

Just two of the letters to the editor are about Howard (not many, as Howard claimed).

Howard also said they ran this good-looking photo of him as a kind of apology for the photo the rogue editor chose:

    Vs.

This was my favorite segment of the day. Howard is delusional. The publisher wouldn't take or return his call, and there has been no apology.

It isn't necessarily contrarian points of views, but typically they are the opposing point of view. But two letters to the editor with one of them being Mariann from Brooklyn isn't really great vindication for Howard.

Even those letters are poor excuses for justifying his remarks. In the end someone who tries to compare a foreign company being hacked and some rich fucks info being disseminated to a violent attack that killed thousands is an idiot.

The Daily News should print a new headline "Howard Stern Is An Even Bigger Idiot Than We First Thought!". The comments Wiggy made today about the Sony hacking were even dumber than the original ones and the idea that printing those 2 letters was an apology is completely idiotic.

What Howard defined as "terrorism" makes him guilty of terrorism over the years as well when he threatened to expose people's secrets who spoke out against him or used his loyal, wacky listeners to harass other people.

Are you saying that Howard being a huge defender of NYC is not a valid defense for Howard comparing a hack into e-mails to the most horrific terrorist attack this country (or the world) has ever seen?

Let it go Howie. The more you protest, the more you look like a dick. He said he hopes the people responsible for the article are punished. I bet they got a pat on the back from the editor instead.

The sad thing is Howard probably does feel that the release of rich people's financial info is equivalent to the lives of mere office workers.

    Oh, no doubt about that.

    He's an extreme Narcissist.

That's one of the classic symptoms.

Impairments in interpersonal functioning (a or b):
    a. Empathy: Impaired ability to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others; excessively attuned to reactions of others, but only if perceived as relevant to self; over- or underestimate of own effect on others.
    b. Intimacy: Relationships largely superficial and exist to serve self-esteem regulation; mutuality constrained by little genuine interest in others' experiences and predominance of a need for personal gain
