Feh. In three weeks of wide release, it made $41 million with a budget of $28 million - so it lost money. The jockey always leaves that part of the story untold, doesn't he.
If, "Private Parts," was a human being, I would be kicking it in the ass out the door demanding it get a job.
I'm ashamed to say i was there for the premiere.
"Private Parts has aged like fine wine, Robin. And Beth tells me I look younger today than I did then!"
18 years later it still gets brought up almost daily to some guest with ...."when i made my movie"
It's an homage to my wife Robin. I'll love her forever.
Pack of lies, from the cover of someone else's face and a body double.
He left the part out where he ripped off steve dahl and jackie wrote every funny word he ever said.
Don't be ashamed GP. He was still worthy of our fanship (is that a word?) back then. Just cause he sucks now doesn't mean you were wrong then for enjoying.
It all started with US Open sores and Club Bene...after that he progressively became more and more Jewy...LOL
.....and I have Allison.
It's 18 and I still wouldn't fuck it
probably one of the most disappointing movies i have ever seen. it was the very definition of mediocre.
I've never seen it.
Howard Says Watching ''Private Parts'' With Beth Was A Mistake. 04/26/10. 6:35am
Howard took a call from a guy who asked if he watched Private Parts with Beth. Howard said they started to watch it but they gave up. It was a bad idea. Howard said the movie is about his life and it was too much of him and his first marriage. He said he gets uptight watching it because it's all about how great his marriage was. He said now he's divorced and it makes him seem like an asshole.
Howard said he got to the Washington DC part of the movie but he turned it off. He said Beth was into it though. He said he didn't feel comfortable watching it with her. He said it felt too weird to him. Beth said it wasn't weird for her.
Howard said he should have watched it on his own. Robin said she hasn't seen it since his divorce. Howard said she saw bits and pieces of it but not the whole thing.
Howard said he kept thinking Beth thought he looked gross. He said he looked really bad in the scenes from the past. Howard said the whole Fartman thing didn't look good either. Howard said he had a bad time watching it with her. He said seeing half of it was more than enough for him.
Howard said he got worked up about seeing it again when someone wrote to him telling him it holds up really good after all these years. He said he didn't need to see it though. Howard said he didn't even get to the Pig Virus stuff.
Howard said Gary looked so young in the movie. He said it was really weird. He said even Fred looked a lot younger. Howard said he still holds up himself though. Robin said she actually looks better now. Howard said she does. He said she looked great in the movie though.
Howard talked about how they changed that movie script around a lot. He said the people at Rysher got upset with him and said they were going to get Jeff Goldblum to play him because he was being such a pain in the ass. He said he told them that no one would go see it if they did that. Howard said they had never been heard of before that and he figured that they would have made a mistake if they hadn't let him change the script. He wasn't pleased with the script so he had them make a lot of changes.
Howard said watching the movie was a big mistake. The caller said it really holds up after all these years though. Howard thanked him for that. Howard said Robin should have told him not to watch it with Beth. Robin is supposed to be the voice of reason.
My private parts turned 18 a long, long, long time ago.
First time I was disappointed with Howard was that mediocre movie
I expected sooo much and got so little
