I have a business (ground floor--many tall buildings) with a decent opening for southern exposure. I can't get a signal better than a 1 or 2 bar and of course the signal goes in and out. My sub is up middle of November, and I'm thinking of just cancelling. I listen to the show exclusively on my phone (and anyone who does that knows how shitty the app is with drops and such.
Any ideas on improving the signal for an XM radio that actually works?

I have internet listening also and Octane sounded like shit all day last week. It was in slow-motion or something. Unlistenable. It pissed me off because I have that channel on pretty much all day.

Huh? Do you listen through a radio or your phone? If it's your phone, that's the cell carrier's issue--not SXM's.

Why are you bothering with satellite, especially to pay for a show that's nearly worthless?

I listen through my phone in a back office to the Stern show. The weak signal--radio XM part is for the business

There's a lot of channels on there---not just Stern. But of course, it's worthless if it keeps fading in and out

I know that internet tuning would solve the satellite issue, but I'm looking for an easy way to use an XM radio that I bought to supply music in my business. I was hoping for some sort of antenna that worked better than the one they supply. I guess (other then putting something on the roof) it doesn't exist

Anyone remember how bad it was 3-4 years ago (before they sent up the last couple of satellites)? It was fucking infuriating...I wanted to take down the 12 foot antenna wire that was hanging out the window of my house, drive up to NYC, and strangle Karmazin with it.

I have an outside antenna and I've never had a SAT reception issue in 7 years unless there was sun activity that also interrupted CATTV or other SAT communications.

In the car, I've never had an issue. The signal inside the house fucking blows, however if I'm not listening online....the radio sucks.

    Proper modulation is very important.
