I'm not debating Dio vs. Ozzy at all but, holy shit, I am working on my MINI in my shop with the iPod on random and it hit "Neon Knights" and "Signs of the Southern Cross" and I was just blown away so I just listened to both "albums". Not that I didn't know that Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules weren't great but sometimes not hearing things for some time gives you a new appreciation. WGAS/WGAF. :toptip:

Yeah, it's great stuff. Geezer has said how much more of a pleasure it was working with Dio too because Dio wasn't out of control and could write too.

    Fuck. Yes.

Heaven and Hell is definitely one of my "desert island discs". Geezer's bass playing is incredible on these albums.

    Concur.

Both of those albums are pretty fucking epic. Dio did not hurt Sabbath.

    RIP RJD.

    ummmm....

    equal.

His solo shit was good shit at the time. I remember seeing him at the SD Sports Arena, somewhere between '83-'85. That was a great fucking show.

I agree that is was great at the time. I caught the "Last in Line" tour and the show was fantastic. I just don't think his solo stuff has aged well but his Sabbath stuff certainly has.
