This video done by Vanity Fair shows the salaries for a mythical $200 million blockbuster production. The salaries shown are from actual movies in the $200 million range. It's fascinating to see what the different people involved in the making of a film are paid. If you are sought after editor you can earn a comfortable mid six figure salary in Hollywood. You can see why many of the people involved in the production of a movie want to win an Academy Award. It can lead to more jobs in future. Do people like electricians, or those that do the lighting have to go from job to job or are they employed by the studio. I can't imagine the stress of constantly applying for new employment every few months. I know actors live that way but if you are a crafts person going from movie to movie with a variable of pay it's got to be tough.
