yes. its a lot of work too, so if you drop in front of me you better be worth the effort.
Ain't that hard according to Vinnie Jones
No shit. I think they taught me 120 compressions then 2 breaths. That's a lot of work in 60 seconds.
With all the adrenaline you'd most likely have at a moment like that, it wouldn't even be an issue. Plus, hands-only CPR is just as effective
then he hasn't done it so that someone survived. i didn't hear any ribs crack when he was doing it. the two times i did it, they lived at least long enough to get to the ER (I didn't want to know past that).
the current theory is that hands-only is sufficient, which is ok with me (they tend to puke when you blow air into them). I don't believe he was actually compressing the heart when he was doing it though: the chest is not that flexible.
yes no breaths
the gays are gonna give him shit for that 'you only kiss misses on the lips' line.
Don't you mean UPS?
in the 80's those breaths were very difficult to convince people to do. companies made disposable pocket masks so you could do it without "exchanging bodily fluids". a lot more guys would have died if not for those masks.
No joke, last week my company was doing their yearly training for our volunteer first aid responders in one of the conference rooms when I heard Staying Alive playing from outside the room. This is the video they were watching.
I just finished my yearly First Aid training at work and I'm 100% sure they taught us to take 2 breaths. I'm going to challenge them on this.
It was a PSA. Was he actually supposed to crack the ribs during the demo? Plus, he mentions you'll crack the ribs, "but it's better than him kickin' the bucket".
I'm ACLS certified
maybe they teach an ancient program
they specifically addressed that point in the class I took and said it was the old way but deemed not necessary
that's some hard shit.
